Kho Mường in the Pu Luong reserve
Kho Mường is a hamlet in xã Pù Luông, Thanh Hóa, within the landscape of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. This page explains the place and how it relates to trip planning. It is not a trek that can be booked by that name.
What is Kho Mường?
Kho Mường was formerly part of Thành Sơn commune. Since 1 July 2025 it has been part of xã Pù Luông, Thanh Hóa, when Thành Sơn was merged with Lũng Niêm and Thành Lâm under Resolution 1686/NQ-UBTVQH15.
Older travel sources may still describe it under former Thành Sơn commune and Bá Thước district. Public conservation and tourism descriptions identify Kho Mường as a visitor place within the Pu Luong reserve landscape.
The cave
Public conservation sources identify Kho Muong Bat Cave in the karst landscape. Local reporting also uses the name Hang Dơi for a cave at the village.
This page does not publish an interior route, entry rule or operating schedule. Access conditions may change; current local arrangements should be confirmed before visiting.
Walking toward Kho Mường
On the Classic full-day valley trek, one possible direction may head from the Bản Đôn area toward Kho Mường. Another possible direction is toward Hiêu. The option confirmed for your departure is chosen for that day — not both directions in a single day. The name Hiêu on that Classic option is not a statement that the walk visits Hieu Waterfall.
Forest walking and a steeper approach apply only on the Kho Mường option when that is the route confirmed for your booking. Classic departures still vary by day, and this page is not a published GPS track with a stated distance.
What to do next
If you want a private guided walk, compare the published programmes on the tours hub and enquire with your dates. The written itinerary is what confirms whether a Classic departure heads toward Kho Mường.
