Bản Đôn in the Pu Luong reserve

Bản Đôn is a village in xã Pù Luông, Thanh Hóa, within the landscape of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. This page explains the place and how it relates to trip planning. It is not a trek that can be booked by that name.

What is Bản Đôn?

Provincial reporting in 2026 identifies bản Đôn, also called thôn Đôn, in xã Pù Luông. It describes a Thai community and traditional stilt houses.

Older reporting from 2021 placed Bản Đôn in Thành Lâm commune, Bá Thước district. Since 1 July 2025, Thành Lâm, Thành Sơn and Lũng Niêm were merged into xã Pù Luông under Resolution 1686/NQ-UBTVQH15. Older travel sources may still use those former administrative names.

Terraces and the village landscape

Provincial reporting in 2026 identifies terraced fields at Bản Đôn. It describes water-filled fields as part of the farming cycle before the next planting.

That is landscape context. It is not a colour guarantee and not a harvest date.

Walking in the village

Provincial reporting describes walking and trekking as visitor activities around Bản Đôn. This page does not publish a trail, distance or schedule.

Public descriptions of walking here are not a PuLuongTreks route.

How this relates to a booked walk

On the Half-Day Easy Trek, routing can include areas such as Bản Đôn when that matches the confirmed departure. That is not a guaranteed village visit.

On the Classic full-day valley trek, one possible direction may head from the Bản Đôn area toward Hiêu, while another may head toward Kho Mường. The option confirmed for your departure is chosen for that day — not both directions in a single day. The name Hiêu on that Classic option is not a statement that the walk visits Hieu Waterfall.

What to do next

If you want a private guided walk, compare the published programmes on the tours hub and enquire with your dates. The written itinerary is what confirms whether a departure uses the Bản Đôn area.
